LEARNING ABOUT GOD

Learning About God

Children and Youth

Sunday Morning Programs
Children and youth stay with their families at the beginning of each worship service and are invited to join Rev. Emma for a children’s time at the front of the sanctuary. After this time, children and youth go for a time of learning and fellowship. Nursery care is also provided for the youngest of our church family.

Special Events
We have occasional programs for children, including craft days, cooking classes, and Vacation Bible School. We host monthly events for our youth, from grades 7 and up. Events are held in partnership with the local Presbyterian Churches. Our annual Gingerbread house making event is fun for everyone – and mildly competitive! We also serve free hot chocolate at the Santa Claus parade every year. Our congregational picnic in June is also a fun-filled time for families of all ages! Check our Calendar
for more details.

Bible Studies

Knox has 2 regular Bible study programs. One group meets weekly from September to June on Thursday afternoons from 2-3 p.m. The other meets monthly on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Contact the church office for more details.

Reading the Bible

Looking for a good place to begin or renew your journey with God through his Holy Word? Here are some of Rev. Emma's favourite sites:
  • Biblegateway - Bible Gateway is a searchable online Bible in more than 200 versions and 70 languages that you can freely read, research, and reference anywhere. With a library of audio Bibles, a mobile app, devotionals, email newsletters, and other free resources, Bible Gateway equips you not only to read the Bible, but to understand it.
  • Bible Project - If you are a visual learner, this site provides animated videos about books and themes of the Bible.
  • Bible Plans - Do you want read sections of the Bible (or the whole thing) but don't know how to get started? This site lets you customize your reading plan based on how much time you have and what you want to read.

Leading with Care

Knox adheres to the Leading with Care policy of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, which seeks to provide a climate of safety for children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
